I feel that Kubo is just trolling us. It mentions in the manga that Byakuya is dead, like two of three times, but TADA! He's not! And even senbonzakura breaks. WTF? TROLL. I love bleach, and for the past two years have been an avid reader, but this is begging to piss me off. I can understand Kenpachi surviving, sure, there was a lot of ambiguity around his fight. But Byakuya, really? GRRR. He took two direct hits from kageyoshi zenbonzakura, and he's still alive? Rammed into a fucking wall, and lost enough blood to be considered "empty", but still yet he lives? I call bullshit on that.

^Completely agree. Byakuya definitely should have been dead by now, and by him being alive it kind of makes the Bleach manga start to seem a bit too desperately mainstream by trying to keep their "prized" character in because of his popularity with fans. BUT: #1 A good series always has the best characters die in the heat of a desperate situation. (ex. Gurren Lagann) #2 You can't have a complex story line without sacrifices for the sake of the plot. #3 Byakuya's death would give an even better reason for Ichigo to get another one of those way too easily obtained power-up's thanks to the plot thickening/advancing. Or this'll start falling into the realm of DBZ, where power is unlimited, and the series only stops when people run out of ideas for new bad guys...
